I got to know local Durban girl Ramona Kasavan last year. Earlier this year I saw her tweet this hashtag and was keen to know more.Ramona is changing lives and making a difference. So when this popped into my inbox this morning I was super keen to share this event with my readers.I will be interviewing Ramona on her project.
The event information is as follows :
Happy Days Breakfast – Empowering young women
Women’s month is well under way and all eyes are focused on issues related to women in South Africa. With sanitation being a massive problem nationally and globally, the Happy Days Project pioneered by Durbanite, Ramona Kasavan is addressing intimate female issues. The Happy Days project will host a women’s breakfast in Durban in order to raise awareness and funds to continue the supply of the Happy Days sanitary pads to young women across South Africa.
“Happy Days creates hope and dignity, we want to add more ‘happy days’ for young women”, says Kasavan, a dynamic young woman with her finger on the pulse of South African youth. A media personality, MC, motivational speaker and Honours graduate in marketing strategy sums up her passion for women in the mission of the project “Happy days helps empower female learners by keeping them in school through providing them with puberty education and sanitary protection during menstruation”
This is an ideal opportunity for those who share in the same sentiments of empowering women, to enjoy a delightful breakfast with women alike and contribute to a good cause.
The breakfast will take place at Southern Sun Elangeni Hotel, starts at 7:30am. Ticket and donation payments with the reference: Durban Breakfast, can be made to the FNB bank, Acc name: Ramona Kasavan Foundation, Acc no. 6248070338, branch code: 256755
