Celebrate the Goddess within you

Today in South Africa , it is Public Holiday (yay). A day where women are celebrated and commemorated for their contributions in making the world a better place.
Goddess
1995 was the first year that 9th August became a public holiday in South Africa. The reason for this specific date was that it commemorates the march of the 9th August 1956. Over 20 000 women on this day marched to the Union Buildings in Pretoria to hand over a petition against the country’s pass law. The pass law was an act of law that meant that every South African defined as “black” had to carry an internal passport during the Apartheid Era. The reasoning behind this was to maintain population segregation and manage migrant labour. Hearing now about these kind of things that humans had to endure makes me so grateful for all their struggles which have given me freedom.

As a woman we have been tasked with various roles in society that often we tend to forget that we do matter. Our own needs are put aside and more than often forgotten while we look after everyone else.Tips to fill your empty cup #TuesdayTruth

Every religion of the world celebrates and honours women. A woman is the heart of a home ,the tenderness to a relationship and a warrior when she needs to be. Be that Goddess !
So today , I celebrate my right and my voice as a woman. I am filled with gratitude for all those strong women who fought for freedom for all women regardless of colour.
Be Inspired !
