Never have I planned a bridal shower before and I haven’t been to more than 5.So when I decided to throw my future sister in law a bridal shower, I felt a lil bit lost.The first thing I knew was that I needed to find a venue.
During a conversation with Jayshree and Mellissa from Be Pampered Spa I mentioned that I was bravely undertaking planning a Bridal Shower.Instantly these beautiful sisters suggested using Be Pampered Spa as a venue.I was then told about the various Pamper Party Packages on offer.The packages range from R3000 and caterers for up to parties of 20.Having experienced Be Pampered Spa on several occasions I knew it would be a special night for all the ladies.I choose a package which included exclusive use of the venue, a spa treatment per lady (pedicure/full body massage),karoke, meals and set up of a disco.This made my planning so much easier.
Early January, I picked the theme “One Night in Paris”.Invites were sent out with the dress code of Black and Pink.Jayshree ensured that the tables were beautifully decorated in the chosen colours of the night.I decided to make each lady a goodie bag which include an Eiffel Tower keyring, a candle ,a cupcake magnet and a cute badge.These were all packed in beautiful Paris themed carrier bags.So once the goodies and venue was sorted, the guestlist was put together.I decided to invite all my girl cousins in my family and some close family friends.
After finally picking a suitable date the 20th of February was picked which was also the weekend of my brother’s stag weekend.I got home early and packed up snacks, goodie bags , cocktails and ice all ready for our lovely evening out.We were all warmly welcomed by Jayshree and her mum.The spa had undergone some rennovations and the outdoor area by the pool was beautifully done in blues and greens very healing colours.After some cocktails it was time for the pampering to start half of the ladies decided on massages and the other half pedicures.It was such girly fun having these amazing treatments, chatting away with the girls and sipping on yummy frozen Original Iced cocktails.
After our very relaxing treatments it was time for supper which were options of Chicken, Fish and Veg (Paneer or Soya Prawns).We are a very loud bunch but there was silence as we all ate which was clearly evident how moorish the food was.Tummies full we headed outside and sat by the pool while the bride to be opened her gifts.There was lots of giggles and blushes because of some of the gifts.More cocktails were consumed before we headed inside to try out the karoke.With over 2000 songs to pick we tried out several songs singing in a group , off tune but lots of fun and laughter was what filled the night.We danced to our favourite tracks before we all made our way home.Each lady was given their lil goodie bag of treats before they left.
This was not your typical bridal shower of games and strippers.I wanted everyone to be pampered, have fun and have time to socialise.My mission was successful.
