All in the name of beauty

As a woman there are so many painstaking rituals we put our bodies through weekly , some are just pure torture. Why do we torture ourselves ? To make ourselves look better or to seek the approval of a man or is a confidence booster…..
From waxing to threading to sugaring to laser are a few of the torture methods used by us on a regular basis. Beside the pain factor there is the cost factor as well that leaves a dent each month as we not only have to have these treatments but buy products to maintain our beauty. The ancients Greeks and Egyptians used make up . In the 19TH century Queen Victoria publicly declared makeup to be vulgar and improper and only to be used by actors . Now we have definately come a very long way with a large variety of makeup products on the markets varying in prices.
Torture Methods:
1) THREADING – is a popular method of hair removal originally from the Eastern world. It has taken the Western world by storm. This method is fairly quick and painless if done correctly. A piece of thread is used to pluck a row of hair. The perks of this type of removal is that it takes a long time to grow back. In Arab cultures it was seen as a sign that a girl has reached womanhood. I prefer this method over waxing any day.
2)SUGARING – or also known as Persian sugaring was first used in 1900BC although they probably using honey. (Sugar as such only spread to the rest of the world in the first millennium AD from Papua New Guinea. It was not found anywhere else in the world prior to this.)
Sugaring can be less painful than waxing, because the sugar solution sticks to the hair without attaching to the skin. It can be applied at room temperature or heated to a lukewarm temperature therefore preventing burning. Nevertheless there is some risk of skin irritation, sensitivity, and reaction.
I have yet to try this treatment and tomorow will be my first time. I dont like ants crawling around so the thought of ants on me is kind of freaky.
3)LASER – is a method of permanent hair removal its fairly new on the market since 1990.With this technology a light is directed at the hair and is absorbed by dark pigment which then results in the destruction of the hair follicle. This hair removal method sometimes becomes permanent after many sessions. The number of sessions needed depends upon the amount and type of hair being removed. Equipment for performing laser hair removal at home has become available in recent years. This permanent method seems a good idea in the long run but its pretty pricey.
Like everything in life there are some disadvantages. These include
skin inflammation, minor burns, lesions, scarring, ingrown hairs, bumps and infected hair follicles. So yet still knowing this we are prepared to undergo these torture methods all in the name of beauty.
Therefore guys please appreciate all that us woman go through to make ourselves looks beautiful for you
ciao xxx
