The 2022 Spice Goddess Journey
Hello there beautiful people, it has been way too long since I posted on here, and as they say “it’s me, hi, I’m the problem it’s me”.
Website updates:
Firstly have you noticed anything different? Well, the SpiceGoddess brand has undergone some major changes including a site revamp and a new logo. Having been around for many years and building all my platforms I needed to give the brand a new identity, get rid of some things, and keep the best. With growth comes all sorts of change and with that change, we need to take big leaps of faith and trust the process.
A big shout out to the team from Impact 17Â Â Â who have over the last year held my hand, put up with my tantrums, and guided me into building my brand and taking my brand to another level, and not forgetting to create a mind-blowing logo.
Tamryn Iyer is the creative behind Impact17 and is making waves in the community supporting local entrepreneurs in building their brands and creating a digital media footprint. It takes a community not only to raise a child but to grow a brand/business and that is why IÂ make an effort to promote and support small businesses.
If you are new here, WELCOME. I hope my content resonates with you and I hope to see you popping by on my social media platforms to show me some love.YES, you can find me on Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter, and Facebook.
2022 – Life UpdatesÂ
On a personal note, this year has been another one of those years that leave a lasting memory that lingers. It has been a bittersweet year but we survived. Living in Durban is definitely not for the faint-hearted as we have had so much to deal with. The flooding in April left thousands of people without water, electricity, and access to basics not forgetting the loss of homes and lives. We did not have water for 22 days and it was a constant daily thing to go fetch water and carry it upstairs to my flat. Not only did we survive.
On the work front, things have been crazy busy as we have been constantly finding so many obstacles in the way but hey we got through it and there are just a few weeks remaining till the end of the academic year. Virtual meetings still are a thing, coupled with in-person ones taking up a lot of time. I did manage to complete an online digital course this year on building a teaching platform. Trust me it was hard work between regular work commitments and campus life but I passed both modules and am now accredited.
2022 saw me focus a lot of time and energy on building my social media platforms, especially TikTok and my Instagram food account but it has paid off as both platforms have grown to a decent size. Are you following me there yet? If not make sure you do. Posting on social media takes a lot of time and effort in creating an eye-catching image and caption to grab the attention and with videos taking priority editing and finding the perfect music is a mission. But we are slowly and surely getting there and growing the Spice Goddess brand.
Last year I brought my idea of a virtual book club to life and this has resulted in #BookifyZA .Part of creating this concept was to keep me accountable and actually to get me to start reading again. From a very young age, I have been an avid reader and have spent literally millions of hours reading late into the wee hours of the morning. I have lost track of many books I have read so this year I decided to read the Goodreads App to keep track of my books I challenged myself to read 24 books this year and guess what, I’m almost at my goal!
I’d love to know how 2022 has been for you. Many would describe the process transformatively and have learned a great deal on the way!
I look forward to interacting with you.
Kind regards
Verushka Ramasami
