Hello ,meet the SpiceGoddess

Hello ,meet the SpiceGoddess

Hello #SpiceGoddessFamily it has been a some time since I wrote my last post on here.I have been using my time during Lockdown to rest, cook, share and grow my  other platforms.During these days I have noticed that I have several new followers across all my social media and that I would introduce myself to you all.

Meet Verushka aka SpiceGoddess

Since the start of Lockdown there have been several new additions to the #SpicegoddessFamily so when I was tagged by City Girl Vibe in a post I thought it would be a good idea to tell you more about me.The SpiceGoddess started in 2010 and what initially started as a “Dear Diary” and over the years has evolved into a Lifestyle Blog with a focus on Travel,Food and Culture.Besides working on my blog SpiceGoddess ,I am a full time Lecturer at a TVET College in Durban and I teach Travel and Tourism.

Besides my job and blog last year I studied through Wits Business School a 6 month course on Digital Leadership. This meant online exams, assignments,Zoom meetings with my Turor as well as attending lecturers once a month for 2/3 full days.It was crazy long days but honestly I loved been a student again.

2019 was a busy busy year and it seems 2020 has literally told me to stay home and rest. But in this time of Lockdown I have the chance to spend more time in the kitchen working on my kitchen skills. Most do not know that I am a qualified “Home Economics ” and I am chef trained so yes I do know what I am doing in the kitchen and not taking a chance. Each recipe I share is a family recipe or one I have come up with.Over the years I have experimented in food flavours and eaten food from my travels that have inspired my style of cooking.

When it comes to certain things I am rather old fashioned :

1.Like I love the feel of turning pages and the smell of a new book. But have now come to the realisation that I need to move to digital reading and get a device for that purpose alone.

2.My dress sense is conservative yet modern and often people have asked if I am muslim.

3.I do believe in love and romance and as a singleton I would love to be introduced to Prince Charming.

4.I am very family orientated and come from a very large extended family. My family are loud ,fun to be with, they love fiercely and live life to it fullest.

5.I am very traditional about my culture and religion.Wearing traditional Indian clothing does make me feel like a Goddess.I do observe my Hindu rituals and abstain from eating meat a few days every week.

1.WHY DID YOU START BLOGGING & WHY HAVE YOU KEPT BLOGGING?

My blogging journey started in 2010 when I returned home to Durban after living abroad for several years. At the start the blog was merely a “Dear Diary ” but over the years has evolved as a place where I share my world with the world.

As I started writing,I realised I had a way with words and people enjoyed my style of writing. My readers and followers often say that whenever I travel and share my journey, they feel like they have also been apart of my travels and that inspires them to travel well not now but in the future.

I have kept on blogging as I am still in love with my blog and writing and sharing my world with the world.Over time I have also gained an audience who interact and enjoy my content both locally and abroad and this defo keeps me motivated to produce content.

2- WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE TYPE OF BLOG POST TO WRITE?

Most definately a travel post of my experience.Because it is so personal I am able to describe and take my readers along on my journey. Many of my readers have mentioned how they feel they have actually travelled through my words and images captured.
