#SeeMauritius with @AirMauritius and @flightcentreRSA
Having ever only done half board holidays I can now safely say will never do that again.
When my brother started preparing for our visit to Mauritius for his wedding, he wanted it to be full board.Full board means you literally pay for nothing at the hotel. At Solana Beach Hotel all meals where included as well as cocktails, mocktails, softdrinks , local spirits and hot beverages.Often the number 1 rule of staying at a hotel is never take anything from the mini bar fridge in your room .However at Solana the mini bar was stocked up once a day and you could have the bottled water , softdrinks and local beer Phoenix for free. Now how awesome is that !
Part of our package with Flight Centre included transfers from the Airport to Hotel as well as a R2000 resort voucher per room.
We opted to fly with Air Mauritius as it fly directs from Durban and the flight is roughly 3 and a half hours.Mauritius is two hours ahead of us.The luggage allowance is 30kg which was fantastic as we had to pack not only for our holiday but the wedding as well and gifts. Travelling with gran who doesn’t walk very much and uses a wheelchair was great on Air Mauritius , they took care of Gran before and during the flight including taking her to the toilet. The flight was fantastic and the food was evr so yummy and we all know that Airline food can be a hit or miss.On the flight I had my first taste of local Green Island Rum and knew this would be my drink of choice once on the island.
On arrival in Mauritius, Gran was met with a wheelchair and mum and her were whisked away through elevators and shorter lines while the rest of us waited.Once we got our luggage and came into the Arrival hall we were hit with what felt like a heatwave and there standing waiting for us was a lovely lady with a sign welcoming “Mr Ramasami and Family. At this point a group of drivers and helpers from Solis the service provider escorted us to our two luxury Hilux vans and packed in our ton of luggage and offered us much needed ice cold bottles of water.
We then made our way to Belle Mare on the East Coast where our hotel Solana Beach waited to welcome us.
It was such a pleasure going on holiday and having everything taken care off.A big Thank you to Melissa from Flight Centre who handled all arrangements for our big group of 20 and making sure everything was in order.
I will be sharing more posts in the next few weeks to come on my #SeeMauritius Holiday.
Be Inspired!
