Every women loves a little bit of sparkle and shimmer in her life.Having the right accessories can make an outfit look amazing.I love accessories especially bangles and statement neckpieces.I often combine western jewellery pieces when wearing traditional Indian clothing and its a stunning mix of east meets west.
I first noticed the Shimmer brand on Twitter and loved their eye catching jewellery.I was rather fortunate as the brand came onboard for the #SpiceGoddessEvent last year and the ladies were spoiled with sparkle.Shimmer is a Cape Town based direct sales company that sells high quality jewellery.They offer a range of jewellery items and all their accessories are lead and nickel free. I decided t find out more about the brand….
1)What is your core business?
Shimmer is an innovative direct sales company selling high quality, fine
fashion jewellery. We have recently launched our online store, but our
primary focus remains on empowering our incredible independent consultants
who are based throughout South Africa.
2)The key is having a unique product or service what is your unique part?
I am incredibly passionate about customer service and believe that it is the
lifeblood of any business. Quality over quantity! Although our jewellery is
largely Gold and Rhodium plated, we include Stainless Steel and Sterling
Silver items to allow clients with highly sensitive skin to stay on trend
with distinct and stylish accessories. We remain dedicated to offering
premium quality imitation jewellery at a price that is affordable to every
woman.
3)Why start your own business?
Although I had always had a passion for all things pretty, whilst travelling
my love affair with accessories was formed. There is huge job satisfaction
in doing something that you love. Each day is filled with new opportunities
to challenge my abilities, skills and determination. A huge bonus is the
flexibility in your daily schedule which only an entrepreneur can
appreciate.
4)What are the difficulties of running your own business?
Starting a new business involves many unknowns. From financials to market
research, there are many external channels that must fall into place for
everything to work. When things get hard, passion and purpose carry you
through. You are the only person who can make your business dreams come true
– no one will do it for you. You need to be stubborn and flexible. Stubborn
on your vision, and flexible on the details.
5)In 5 years time where do you see your business?
We will endeavour to maintain our excellent growth of both consultants and
clients countrywide. Our aim is to become an established and reputable
market contender in the direct sales industry.
