The official start of 2017 has begun for me as I am back to work. And yes I am still getting used to writing 2017 instead of 2016 and no I have not made any mistakes (yet). For 2017 I have decided to use ,live,breathe and become a #GirlBoss.
First things first …

Happy 2017 !

May the year ahead be filled with loads of amazing experiences , laughter and memories. I wish you enough of everything and may you become a #GirlBoss.
Thinking back to 2016 it was a good year but there was several lessons along the way which have been invaluable in preparing me for 2017. Last year I wrote about 2016 as a year for #SelfCare. I tried for most for the year to fulfill my goals and to look after myself. In the process life threw me all sorts like a box of chocolates BUT I survived.

So for this year, my theme is to own it like a #GirlBoss.

What is a #GirlBoss ?

In my own words ….

A #GirlBoss is one who dreams big, works hard and never gives up. One who knows her worth and does not wait for things to happen BUT is actually the fire starter.

The first time I came across this term was in the form of an awesome book by Sophia Amoruso, called #GirlBoss. A quick and easy read filled with pearls of wisdom. 

2017 Goals

It is important to start the year on a clean slate and set some goals for the year ahead. For me personally I like setting a variety of different goals that are attainable and are focused on different areas of my life.

#GirlBoss Goals for 2017

  1. Work smarter.
  2. Have a plan of action.
  3. Set attainable goals.
  4. Network.
  5. Stop procrastinating.

#SpiceGoddessBlog Goals

  1. Blog 4 times a month.
  2. Do guest posts on other blogs.
  3. Increase Facebook page to 5000 followers currently on 3200 so I am getting there.
  4. Buckle down and get my media kit done or unless there is a kind soul who wants to do it for me.
  5. Increase social media activity on all platforms.


  1. Increase my water intake.
  2. Decrease the amount of red meat in my diet and increase the vegetables.
  3. Start meditation.
  4. More physical excercise.
  5. Get enough sleep.


  1. Explore more locally in Durban.
  2. Do day trips.
  3. Visit other parts of South Africa.
  4. 2 adventures abroad.
  5. Try and tick off all 55 things on this list .

Dearest 2017

Welcome to my world! Your sister 2016 was filled with all sorts of excitement. I know that you will be even better and keep be busy and inspired.
I want to be able to live a life that not only looks good on the outside but on the inside too. My aim is to create my own rainbows and not wait for others to do it and if it rains I will learn to dance in my storms.
2017 , I am coming for your like a very determined #GirlBoss who will be dreaming even bigger and working smarter to turn my dreams into a reality.
