With just 4hours of sleep fuelled by Berocca and a 5min pamper session of Eyeslices I was ready for an action packed day out and about London Town with friends.
I took a stroll down Oxford street bought some Sushi for brekkie (crazy I know but I am on holiday) and headed to one of my favourite parts in London Greenwich. To get to Greenwich I used the Docklands Light Railway via Stratford, this is an overland travel system and gives you amazing views of the Eastend and Canary Wharf.I love the feel of Greenwich with is bustling market , museums and lil shops. One almost forgets that one is in London.I headed off to sit outside the gorgeous Cutty Sark ship and have my Sushi breakfast.
I was meeting the ever so lovely Mellissa @mysticsisters whom I have known for sometime but never met in person.Mellissa is married and now lives in London. We met in my favourite Starbucks for a caffiene fix , a catch up and a personal reading from this lovely Mystic Sister. It was at this point my crazy Polish friend Justyna who I had worked with, joined us before we headed off to Westfields Stratford for lunch cause we were meeting friends later for drinks.
Having only ever been into Westfields Sheperds Bush , I was keen to see what Westfields had in store. The mall was huge and so super busy. One of the features I loved was the charging cellphone stations with lockable lockers, very handy indeed for me.After a yummy lunch filled with a million stories with Justyna and Mellissa we headed upstairs to the Casino and Skybar to quench our thirsts like ladies of leisure.
Here we were joined by my dear friends Rob and Caroline , Mellissa’s hubby also joined us.This afternoon drink session was the start of an a fun night/morning out.We headed off to have some Mexican food Rob’s suggestion of WAHACA (review to follow) and as always his suggestions are spot on.Huge portions , well priced , fresh , sharing platters and score your food arrives before your drinks.
The 3 Musketeers were left Mellissa, Paresh and I we headed off into the city , down Oxford Street.I love Oxford Street as it always busy and there are always side streets with great vibey bars and eateries. We found a lil bar and indulged in a few more drinks and shooters.Still can’t get used to the last round in UK bars where a bell is rung to signal the last round before the establishment closes.Yes we got our last round in!
After that we went of a walkies of London Town before heading back to my hotel.By this time it was 1:30am and all 3 were a lil worse for wear.We said our goodbyes and I thanked Mellissa and Paresh for the kindness and spoils.
Once back in my room my mind was still wide awake , so I showered did a bit of packing before falling off to sleeping listening to BBC Radio 2.
Day 3 was jam packed with great friends , good memories and lots of laughs.A big thank you to all my friends old and new who took time out to see me and catch up during by whirlwind time in London.
On Day 4 I checked out off my gorgeous hotel The Cumberland (Review to follow shortly). My last 3 days were spent with family in High Wycombe.Post to follow
